This is Dr. Alyson Fischer's 10th year as an administrator at Lawrence Township Public Schools. Prior to becoming LIS Principal, she was previously the assistant principal at Lawrence High School and also held the position of LTPS Director of Health, Physical Education, and Athletics. As an Assistant Principal, she helped lead the Character Education and the #HappyandHealthy initiatives, which brought programs such as Challenge Day which is a resiliency building and anti-bullying student workshop, Cardinal’s Nest peer tutoring, the development of a high school mental health committee, after-school wellness programs and a mentoring program to the high school. In the last few years, she has presented on Equity and Culturally Responsive teaching throughout the district.
Prior to becoming an administrator, she was a former social studies teacher and coach at Jackson Memorial High School. She received her undergraduate degree from The College of New Jersey, went to Georgian Court University for her graduate degree and just completed her doctoral degree at Rider University. She is a proud mom of three wonderful children, and when not at their games or activities, you can find her at OrangeTheory fitness, running or reading!
She continues to build relationships with the students, staff, and families of Lawrence Intermediate School, and truly believes that it “takes a village” to raise our students to be creative, active, and healthy members of society.
