Sharin Rello
Ms. Sharin Rello
Sharin Rello has proudly been a part of the Lawrence Intermediate School (LIS) community for over 20 years, including six years as Assistant Principal. During her tenure, Ms. Rello has focused on supporting the whole child by strengthening the school’s character education program through the LIS house system, which fostered a stronger sense of belonging and community. She also enhanced restorative practices by introducing peer-led intervention circles, resulting in a measurable decrease in peer conflicts and increased student engagement.
As a leader at LIS, Ms. Rello believes it is essential to support students by fostering social-emotional growth and implementing trauma-informed practices throughout the building. She is committed to building strong relationships among all members of the LIS community, ensuring that students are met where they are. By doing so, she strives to challenge and celebrate students’ strengths while supporting their growth in areas of social, emotional, and academic need.
Before her administrative role, Sharin was a music educator at LIS. During this time, she revived the school’s musical theater program, created a district-wide jazz festival, and provided students with authentic music experiences through guest artists and performance opportunities. She has also contributed to numerous district initiatives, including curriculum development, standards-based grading, character education, and serving on the district equity committee. Outside of school, Sharin enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, reading, running outdoors, and playing saxophone with other local musicians.
